Panels grown, not drilled.
BioFiber Panels combines bamboo and oil palm fibres with bio-based epoxy to create lightweight, stiff and heat-stable panels for furniture, construction and vehicle interiors.
The problem
Wood and plastic panels carry a heavy environmental cost.
Conventional panels rely on timber or fossil-based plastics. Agricultural fibres such as oil palm and bamboo are abundant, renewable and often wasted, yet can deliver strong engineering performance.

How it works
How it works
A clear path from data to decision.
Collect
Bamboo and oil palm fibres are sourced as renewable feedstock.
Blend
Fibres are combined in tuned ratios such as 7B:3O and 5B5O.
Bind
A bio-epoxy matrix bonds the fibres into a composite.
Press
Panels are formed and cured for furniture or building use.
Product
What makes it different.
Every feature is grounded in the founding research.
Strong and stiff
Hybrid panels reached 71.18 MPa flexural strength and 5.24 GPa modulus.
Heat stable
Hybrids showed significantly better thermal stability than single-fibre panels.
Lightweight
Economical lightweight material for automotive and building parts.
Bio-based
Natural fibres and bio-epoxy reduce reliance on wood and plastic.
Who it's for
Who it's for.
Furniture makers

Automotive & transport
Lightweight interior parts.
The research
Built on peer-reviewed research.
- Fabricated bamboo/oil palm fibre bio-epoxy composites and tested mechanical, thermal and morphological properties.
- Hybrid 7B:3O reached the highest flexural strength (71.18 MPa) and modulus (5.24 GPa).
- Hybrid 5B5O showed the highest decomposition temperature, 377.82°C.
- DMA showed higher storage modulus for hybrids, meaning greater stiffness.

FAQ
Questions we hear often.
Can the panels replace wood?
They are designed as a lightweight, sustainable alternative for many furniture and building uses.
Are they water resistant?
Moisture performance is part of our ongoing product development.
Is this a finished commercial product?
It is a research-based student startup moving from validated prototype toward pilots with real users.
Can we partner or run a pilot?
Yes. We are looking for organisations willing to test the solution in real conditions and share feedback.
